Milk Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour milk (add 1T vinegar to make milk sour)
2 cups sifted cake flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder dissolved in vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 Tablespoon vinegar mixed with 1 teaspoon baking soda
Method
Cream shortening and add sugar gradually. Stir in the eggs and mix well
Mix the cocoa, salt, and baking powder into the flour.
Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the shortening mixture.
Add the vanilla.
Add the baking soda
Pour in two greased 8" layer pans and bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes or when toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean
